Lake Wyaralong, near Brisbane, Queensland is an artificial lake created as a major reservoir for the city's water supply. It also co-functions as recreation facility for non-powered water sports, trail walking and mountain biking. It was created in 2011 to address local drought issues, but the lake filled within a few weeks due to unexpected and exceptional rainfall. The lake can hold 103 thousand megaliters of water.
