This footage was filmed and produced 14 July 2023.
On July 14, 2023, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched Chandrayaan-3, its lunar exploration mission, from the Satish Dhawan Space Station in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
The GSLV Mark 3 (LVM 3) heavy-lift launch vehicle carried the spacecraft, which crossed the orbit and maintained normal parameters. The mission aims to land on the moon on August 23, making India the fourth country to achieve this milestone.
Chandrayaan-3 has undergone modifications since the failed Chandrayaan-2 mission in 2019. It weighs around 3,900 kgs and includes a propulsion module, a lander (Vikram), and a rover (Pragyan) for in-situ experiments.
The launch was witnessed by a large crowd at Sriharikota, marking a proud moment for India.
