The Lionfish, Pterois volitans, in Chichiriviche de la Costa,Venezuela,Caribbean Sea. Lionfish is native to the Indopacific region; was first seen on the reefs of the Caribbean Sea in 1985,it is believed that the pet owners of the stated of Florida(United State) are responsible for his liberation.A serious problem hides behind the beautiful facade of the Lionfish. Since it have no predators in this part of the planet, this fish is reproducing at alarming levels. It has a very voracious appetite and can eat almost anything. Can feed from small invertebrates to juveniles of the majority of fish species.
The fault of this great problem is not the poor Lionfish but we the human race, in our desire to earn money.
