Congressman Barr says capital expenditures unhindered by tax cut law

Kentucky Congressman Andy Barr tells Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin at a House Financial Services Committee hearing that his theory compared with others about capital expenditures or CAP X declining was not caused by tax cuts which put forward a lot of capital expenditures and business investment but not attributable to anything other than trade uncertainty, many companies would continue to invest in capital and equipment purchases and other items to make the business is more efficient and productive if Democrats would stop opposing making provisions permanent in the tax code, so the uncertainty of not having permanency with the bonus depreciation and expensing provisions was may be an impediment to continued CAP X.
