Desperation in Gaza: Palestinians struggle to get humanitarian aid

GAZA, PALESTINE-FEBRUARY 1: Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip persist, leaving Palestinians in a dire situation where basic needs, including food items, remain elusive due to the imposed embargo. The blockade prevents vital aid trucks from reaching Palestinians in northern Gaza, exacerbating the already severe hunger gripping the population. Despite this, only a limited quantity of flour has managed to reach the besieged city of Gaza. Palestinians, resorting to various means of transportation such as horse-drawn carts, donkeys, bicycles, and even carrying sacks of flour on their laps, returned home after receiving the scarce aid. However, many expressed disappointment, stating that the received aid was insufficient to meet their needs. In the midst of this desperation, a Palestinian father told Anadolu on Thursday (Feb. 1) that “I've been standing at Kuwait Roundabout since 8 in the morning, and in the end, only two kilograms of flour come out. I'm in a group of eight people, meaning a meal for kneading, a day for my children. Not for me, for my children.” Another man, Mahmoud Al-Hiki, lamented the dire situation, highlighting the struggles of providing for his children amidst empty wallets. Al-Hiki criticized the lack of accountability in distributing aid, with some individuals hoarding multiple bags while others are left with nothing.
