Displaced Syrians in refugee camps of Iraq await for more assistance
DUHOK, IRAQ - AUGUST 18: Displaced Syrians living in the refugee camps in the Duhok province of Iraq have been awaiting assistance as the people have been struggling with economic and social problems.
The refugees in Duhok have escaped from the areas under the occupation of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG during the Syrian civil war and taken refuge in camps established in various cities in Iraq.
According to the data provided by Duhok Migration and Immigration Directorate, 115.000 Syrian refugees are accommodating within the borders of Duhok province.
There are 20 refugee camps in the city, five of which are occupied by Syrian people.
A refugee camp named Domiz 1 in the region have been housing more than 29.000 Syrian refugees.
