August 12, 2018, Washington, D.C., USA: A torn up Confederate flag is left on a police line near the White House by a protester after the Unite the Right 2 rally. Protesters in opposition to the Unite the Right 2 rally organized by White Nationalist Jason Kessler at Lafayette Park near the White House gather to oppose the rally. The rally was to mark the one year anniversary of the first Unite the Right Rally in Charlottesville, Virginia that ended in violence, and the death of Heather Heyer, after a neo-Nazi rammed his car into a crowd. A group of about 15 White Nationalists were escorted to the second Unite the Right rally, and were surrounded by thousands of counter protesters.
