Sunda Clouded Leopard (Neofelis diardi) - very rare daylight sighting in Sabah, Borneo - stock photo

Beautiful Sunda Clouded Leopard (Neofelis diardi) in Deramakot Forest Reserve, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia. The mouth is hanging open, as is typical for this species. This young female was spotted by a track in the jungle in the late afternoon (approximately 5 pm). A daylight sighting like this is extremely rare, as these little-known leopards are usually strictly nocturnal. Image is somewhat grainy due to low light levels.
