The house of Rudolf Höss (also Hoess) at Auschwitz Concentration Camp near Oświęcim in Malopolskie Province, Poland. He lived here with his wife and children while overseeing the Final Solution. Höss was the commandant of Auschwitz from 1940-1943, overseeing the mass murder of over a million people, mostly Jews, during the Holocaust. After the war, he was captured by Allied forces in 1946. He was tried, convicted, and sentenced to death by a Polish court, and hanged at Auschwitz in 1947.
