A Railway Scenic Journey on Coastal Pacific between Kaikoura and Blenheim in Summer 2015 - stock photo

The Coastal Pacific Line runs between Picton and Christchurch. This shot was taken on my journey from Kaikoura to Blenheim in summer 2015. Either through the huge windows or from the open air viewing carriage, breathtaking views were endless. Sadly, nearly a year later, an earthquake in November 2016 damaged the very rail line between Kaikoura and Blenheim. Consequently, Coastal Pacific went out of service. It is said that Coastal Pacific won't resume service until late of 2018.
