Every year in the fall Durango, Colorado, has a cowboy parade down Main Street. Cows, horses, draft teams, llamas, mules and donkeys, coaches, historic wagons, and carriages, are part of the traditional celebration. This Durango Cowboy Parade is one of the largest, motorless parades in the country. Native American Dancers, the US Forest Service Pack Mule Team, buckaroos on stick horses and fashionable ladies & gents dressed in period costume parade down the street. The yearly parade begins at 10:00 a.m.at the train depot and proceeds down Main St. to 12th St. Here dressed cowboys steer a stagecoach down road with its passengers.
