Miss Autherine Lucy, 26, the first Negro student ever to enter the University of Alabama has been barred from attending classes until further notice following a day of campus rioting in which police fired tear gas into an unruly crowd and in which University officials were pelted with rocks and mud balls. Miss Lucy, a secretary, has been returned to her home in Birmingham, Alabama.
