NAIROBI, KENYA - 2022/02/26: Two armed Kenya Police Officers stand on a hill of garbage at the Dandora Dumping site.
Discussions to chart a way forward for a global plastic treaty to address the growing plastic pollution problem will begin this week during the United Nations Environmental Assembly UNEA 5.2). With two draft resolutions on the table, member countries will address the entire life cycle of plastics proposed by Rwanda and Peru or Japan's draft resolution that emphasizes better plastic waste management.
