Worlds Oldest Man, Mbah Gotho, Celebrates His 146th Birthday

*** VIDEO AVAILABLE *** CENTRAL JAVA, INDONESIA - JANUARY 3: The worlds oldest man Saparman Sodimejo, known as Mbah Gotho, who is 146 years old, celebrates his 146 birthday at his home town on January 3, 2017 in Seragen, Central Java, Indonesia. Is this the oldest man in the world? Claiming to have celebrated his 146th birthday on 31 December 2016, Mbah Gotho claims he has paperwork that proves he is the oldest man in the world. Mbahs identity card states he was born 31 December 1870 and has been confirmed as accurate by the Indonesian records office. The documentation is yet to be independently verified. Mbah celebrated his landmark birthday at his home in a central Java village in Indonesia. Attending the modest party were neighbours, Mbahs grandson Mr Suryanto and his wife Mrs Suwarni and their two children Erika and Anisa Kurniwati, who sang to him and served up a cake. Instead of 146 individual candles on the cake, the family opted for numeral candles instead. While other individuals have claimed to be older - James Olofintuyi from Nigeria says he is 171 and Dhaqabo Ebba from Ethiopia maintains he is 163 years old neither have verified documentation to prove this.
