Post-Scapular Muscles & Triceps Muscle

The scapula has two dorsal fossae, separated by the spine of the bone, and one anterior, or ventral, making three in all, from each of which arises a muscle; these muscles are known as the supra-spinatus, infra-spinatus, and subscapularis, 1899. From 'The Treatise of the Human Anatomy and Its Applications to the Practice of Medicine and Surgery, Volume I' (1899). The triceps muscle is the large muscle on the back of the upper limb of many vertebrates. It is the muscle principally responsible for extension of the elbow joint (straightening of the arm).
