Socks of Gladys Roy
(Original Caption) Queen of Girl Aerial Performers. Miss Gladys Roy, of the Mark Campbell flying circus, is undoubtedly the most daring girl parachute jumper and aerial performer that ever thrilled a crowd. She goes aloft in a speeding plane, with a compact parachute strapped on her back. After a series of aerial monkeyshines, she leaps from the speeding plane in a most spectacular manner and descends safely to earth by means of the parachute. Miss Roy is but 17, but anyone watching her during her aerial performance wonders how one possessing such feminine charm as does Miss Roy, can perform such daredevil feats with all the coolness and steadiness that might be expected only of hardened men.
