IN THIS PHOTO: Mora, MN., Tuesday, 9/26/2001. Dining room of a 5-year old house in Mora that has a photovoltaic panel and wind power generation system, allowing the homeowners to not have to use any electricity from the power company grid. The power is stored in fourty eight batteries, which run into a converter system and then into a standard fuse box. The system was designed by Jerry Lilyerd, for his brother who lives in the house. The house will be featured on the 2001 National Tour of Solar Homes, which will be held on Oct. 13. The local tour is sponsored by the Minnesota Renewable Energy Society in Minneapolis.(Photo By BRUCE BISPING/Star Tribune via Getty Images)
