ENOSHIMA, KANAGAWA-KEN, JAPAN - 2017/01/15: Japanese fundoshi loincloths were once almost universally used as underwear by Japanese men. Before increased westernization, fundoshi were common among most Japanese men. Japanese started to believe that the fundoshi loincloth was a vulgar thing to wear, even as underpants. Modern Japanese think that the fundoshi loincloth, is a embarrassing iteml, and only suitable for wearing at summer festivals. Some people value fundoshi as cool, healthy and comfortable underwear.
