French military crew onboard a plane equipped with an 'airborne warning and control system' (Awacs) radar prepare for take off on June 7, 2009 at the French Air Base in Dakar. French and Brazilian planes are scouring waters to make visual sweeps for wreckage of the Air France Airbus A330 that plunged into the Atlantic six days ago. So far five bodies have been recovered 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) off Brazil's northeast coast and operations were underway in "unfavorable" weather to recover others spotted floating among seats and other debris from the plane, Brazilian military officials said. The Airbus A330 was carrying 228 people -- most of them French or Brazilian -- when it came down early on June 1, four hours into its 11-hour voyage from Rio de Janeiro to Paris.
