Founder of Ahmedabad Women Action Group (AWAG) Ilaben Pathakalong (3L) with other Indian women farmers shout anti Nirma slogans as they get down from a police vehicle at their base camp in Gandhinagar, some 30 km from Ahmedabad on March 18, 2011. Some 450 women farmers along with little boys were detained by the police while they tried to march towards the State Assembly on March 18. Indian farmers and landowners who began their march from Mahuva town on March 3, 2011 arrived at Gandhinagar on March 17. The march entitled "The Jal, Jameen, Jangal Bachavo Padyatra" translated as " Water, Land, Forests Safeguarding March" is a protest by farmers and landowners against a cement factory in the village of Mahuva - where Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the western Indian state of Gujarat Kanubhai Kalasariya is leading the march. Work at the factory which is owned by Nirma, was recently halted by The Union Ministry of Environment and Forests. AFP PHOTO/Sam PANTHAKY (Photo credit should read SAM PANTHAKY/AFP via Getty Images)
