Former graffiti artist and student Alfredo Amar with giant Virgin of Guadalupe he painted on wall of business near 28th and Olive in Los Angeles in the evening of 10/24/2000. He did the illustration to "brighten the neighborhood" however, after he painted it, someone wrote pejorative graffiti over the face and body. He is working to repair the damage and hopes to have it finished by November. Amar is an aspiring sign designer/painter in Ralph "Doc" Guthrie's Sign Graphics class at LA Trade Tech College.
