Historical view of a Mule Jenny spinning machine (here a further development from around 1865). The Spinning Mule, also known as the “Mule Jenny”, was an invention by the Englishman Samuel Crompton in 1779. It works semi-automatically and represents the link between manual and fully automatic spinning machines. However, due to its high level of rationality, the Mule Jenny was still able to survive claim for a long time. Wood engraving, published in 1869.
