Pleasure boat Prince of Wales disaster, 1966

Pleasure boat Prince of Wales capsized and tipped its 39 passengers into the Mawddach Estuary at Penmaenpool, Merioneth, North Wales on the 22nd July 1966 . The summer afternoon trip became a sudden struggle for survival as the boat was making a ' U' turn towards a landing jetty. The Prince of Wales was swept against a toll bridge.
