Italian Refugees Leaving Airplane

(Original Caption) A group of 52 Italian refugees, all of them tailors r seamstreses, pose in front of the TWA plane that brought them to idlewild airport here, April 18th, from Rome. The Group was flown here under a "Tailo Plan" jointly sponsored by the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America and the Catholic Relif Services-- National Catholic Wlefare Conference. Originally 300 assurances were requested by the A.C.W.A., but the plan worked so well that more were called for. The arrival of these 52 refugees brings the total number of tailors brought here under the plan to 1,000. All of them have been assured jobs by the A.C.W.A. in New York, boston, or Philadelphia.
